 We focus on as many whole foods as possible.  We want to help reprogram your genes so that you accelerate the fat burning process, increase energy, and improve your immune and hormone function.  "You have to fit your genes in order to fit into your jeans."  Mark Sisson wrote the book Primal Blueprint  and he discusses the importance of fats, proteins, and good carbohydrates (vegetables and fruits) and why we should eat as our ancestors did 10,000 years ago.

How do you become a fat burning beast?  First and foremost, you have to eliminate processed carbohydrates from your diet.  Eliminate sugars, grains, wheat, pasta, bread, cereal, corn, and even legumes (peanuts, beans, peas, and soy).  To make it simple, carbohydrates control insulin in the body and insulin controls fat storage.  So, the more "bad" carbohydrates you eat, the more fat is being stored and not being burned as energy.

What is eating primal? 

1.  Protein:  Focus on eating animal protein (meat, fowl, fish and eggs)   Best:  local, pasture-raised   Good:  organic sources    Fair:  leanest you can buy in stores

2.  Carbohydrates:  Eat an assortment of vegetables and fresh fruits.   Stay away from neutral colors.  Eat what is in season or locally grown. 

3.  Fats:  Healthy fats include (animal fats, avocados, butter, coconut products, nuts and seeds, olives and olive oils). 

One question that always pops up is, "eating healthy is expensive?"  Take care of your body now and then you will decrease the amount of money spent on health care.
